Hidden in the shadows of the abysmal deep,

Intrigued by the screams as I wail and weep.

Numb is my friend and pain is my foe.

Death is waiting for me slowly, as I die so.

I close my eyes as I tremble in fear,

My veins turn varicose as I begin to tear.

In this island, the whipping wind whispers to me.

The wisps of mist blur my vision to see.

Clear view of the naked crystal blue sky,

Stones get wet by the salty sea and cry.

Concealing its beauty and secrets of the unknown,

Sniffing clean free fearful aroma like cologne.

Staring out at the deep blue sea,

Holding my tears back, so I can see…

Fruits drying up and the wind exploring,

Counting the days as the rain continues pouring.

Don’t blame the island for its mystery,

As it has an intriguing poignant history.

Curves its way through the peaceful ocean life,

Beautifully proportioned and glistens like a proud wife.

Wild kinds of ape scream from far behind,

The scene makes me listen and leaves me blind.

Beauty is what we seek and yet try to conceal,

This place is my home, which seems truly surreal.

Calm voices of the aggressive waves,

Anxiety and worries sent this island to its grave.

Cold against hot, Life against death.

Alive in a way that leaves me out of breath.

A hidden sandy palace full of angst in hold,

Remaining silent, whispering words as if in bold.

Whisking dead leaves creep into the sand,

Leaving trails of lines just like the palm of my hand.

Even though this island may detest me with lustful hate,

I will cherish the perfection it shines and accept this fate.

Remember, remember the day I die…

And don’t hesitate to ask yourself “Why?”
